Rickie! Coghlan; Hughes
Who has the most home runs on the Brewers?
Ryan Braun?
Prince Fielder?
Mike Cameron?
Corey Hart?
JJ Hardy?
Nope… It’s 2b, Rickie Weeks – the Perennial 20hr/30sb candidate, however his sub .240 avg keeps him out of the top 10 rounds and out of the top 5 2b’s. He’s a solid 25/20 candidate this year now. His sb’s need to pick up a little though and they should.
Free Agent Watch: 2 Guys I’m somewhat passionate about -
*Chris Coghlan/3b (and maybe 2b/of) -Florida Marlins. If anything happens to Uggla/Hermida/Ross/Bonifacio this kid could stud it up. They want him in the lineup bad. He just hit his first career homerun. Keep watch!
*Philip Hughes/sp-Yankees. I know he had a horrendous start against the Orioles and not a great start against the Red Sox, but this guy is an aboslute stud and could be better than Joba for the rest of this year. His fastball moves and his curveball is sick. If he’s dropped in your league, pick him up and at least stash away until he keeps hot. I understand Wang may be back up – hopefully the Yankees understand they need Joba in the bullpen so Hughes can start. I’m assuming he’d have to string together 3 solid starts before that happens, but if it does – Jump.
You're a MLB Pro..Thanks For Coming Back!

New Stadium – Fresh Start – Welcome To Citi Field!By Jeffrey Gross on April 13, 2009 | No Comments
Before I get into today’s game I want to make mention of a few things:
I didn’t get to post about Yesterdays game against the Florida Marlins, but I woule like to write a quick blurb about it now. Johan looked awesome, 13 K’s is nothing to sneeze at. Of course he did not get the win…that went to Johnson, Florida’s SP. Johnson got better as the game progressed, and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with this guy. It was an incredible gamer to watch, and I feel it was the best I have watched this season. (Even though it resulted in a Mets loss) Oh yeah, Congratulations to Johan Santana…who’s wife gave birth to a baby boy today…only 18 years and we might see another Johan!
Ok so now for today. Citi Field is in business! It was a true pleasure to see The Franchise and Mr. Mike Piazza on the field once again for the opening ceremonies. Always cool to see those two on the same field. So new stadium, fresh start, let’s give the ball to Mike Pelfrey. What a wonderful first inning it was, the first Padres batter launched a home run over the right field fence to christen the new field. Pelfrey then settled down and escaped the first inning.
Pelfrey have up 4 more runs over the next few innings, and wasn’t all that sharp tonight. His pitches were up in the zone, and I must admit, I am hoping to see more from him this weekend.
Offensively, David Wright looked great, Beltran gave one a ride (but not quite enough), Castillo came through in an important spot. Feliciano balked home the go ahead (at the time) and eventual winning run. Not exactly the best way to start, but let’s see what happens!
Until tomorrow…Happy blogging!

Do you love baseball? I
f you are anything like me, you just cannot wait to see your favorite team play almost each and every day. Off days seem to take an eternity to pass, and game days are simply amazing…unless they lose of course. Like many of you, I actively contribute to many baseball forums and blogs. Why do I do this? I do this because I feel that my opinion matters, and that other people should have access to this information.
Well one day I was thinking, “Hey why shouldn’t I have my own place to post my thoughts?” The answer is Major League Blogging. Major League Blogging is a brand new website promises to grow exponentially in the coming weeks and months. I do have one problem however… I simply cannot do this all by myself. There are too many teams, in too many cities, and I just don’t have the resources to cover them all.
I cannot sit here and pretend to know everything about every team in the Major Leagues. I would simply be lying to you and wasting your valuable time. So now you are probably asking what the hell is this guy getting at? Well here it is, the chance of a baseball fans lifetime.
I need YOU the superfan for your respective team to write on your very own team’s blog. There is one catch though, there is only room for 1 blog authors per Major League team. We have already filled up 80% of the teams and are in the process of searching for more owners.
Once these spots are filled, they will be filled forever and there is simply no if, ands or buts about it.
Send Us an email to lock in your spot!

Marlins trim roster with last week trades
Marlins GM Larry Beinfest did not sit back during the final week of spring training. A sequence of transactions brought several new players to the Florida sun in 2009. They are expected to fill up the roster with backup roles.
Ronny Paulino appears to head into the season as the second string catcher. He was sent from Philadelphia to San Fransisco and the on to the Fish during the same day, the Marlins giving up pitcher Hector Correa to the Giants in return. He brings a decent bat (.278 career BA) and experience of four seasons in the majors. John Baker will get the nod as the #1 backstop, but Paulino appears to offer a serviceable replacement on days of rest. Correa was not planned to be part of the Marlins rotation.
The second aquisition was pitcher Hayden Penn from Baltimore. Penn showed some promise in the minor leagues, but has not been very successful in his stints with the Orioles. The Marlins appear to be taking a chance that he will regain his stride
while in Florida. They parted with Robert Andino, who was slated to a backup role in the infield. You’re not going to get much playing time when you’re competing with Hanley Ramirez…Beinfest then brought utility man Ross Gload back to the team that originally drafted him. Gload has bounced around the majors including stops with the Cubs, Rockies, White Sox and Royals. His career batting average stands at .287 . He offers mainly a left handed bat off the bench and can backup at several positions. The Royals will receieve a player to be named later in the deal.
None of the deals involved a player expected to make a major immediate impact for the team. However, they kind of trimmed the team and made it slightly more competitive in select situations over the season. Let’s get ready for Opening Day Monday!!

Hermida Needs To Step Up for the Marlins to Have a ChanceBy FishHead on February 19, 2009 | 7 Comments
As you may know I love this team.
But now that Mike Jacobs is gone I have to find someone else to rip on.
Jeremy Hermida is that guy.

He just might want to kill me
The “can’t miss” prospect hit .273 with a .369 OBP in ’07. Then he followed it up with .243 & .323 last year.
After an ‘08 season where the Marlins established a team record for home runs Hermida said this…
“It’s easy to kind of just try to go along with that. You see that and you get out of your approach a little bit. My approach is being a gap-to-gap guy. I’m trying to do that.”
Trying!?!
He also said he’s never watched game film, “Ever”. But will start this sesason.
“I was always capable of going out there and making adjustments on the fly. But at this level, with the advanced scouting, you have to be a little more prepared with what they’re trying to do with you.”
Unacceptable. You are not Roger Maris.
It seemed like if he wasn’t losing the ball in the sun, or popping up / striking out with men on base he was “trying” to hit a home run, but instead knocking some kid in the face with a foul ball.
Last season Hermida was Mike Jacobs, minus the homerun power.
So now the Marlins are moving him from left field to right (where he will have more chances to F up) to improve their team defence.
What?
At least the sun won’t be in his eyes.
