Spring Training v the Rockies
-
Ah, yes… spring training games are here! Why is there still snow outside my door?
Anyway, the Dbacks squared off with the Rockies today and won 5-3.
EPIC!
I didn’t actually get to watch the game (or listen to it for long, for that matter), but by looking at the stats it seems like it was a decent game all around.
Billy Buckner had a decent outing, only giving up one run. Chris Young (a stud) had a 2-run jack. Mark Reynolds stuck out once (in two AB’s… so right now he’ll strike out once every two at-bats! Ha!) but had 1 RBI. The Dbacks tried to get Ryan Roberts to steal (I heard this in the 2 minutes I

Run, Felipe!
was able to listen to the game) and was gunned down like a cannon ball shot toward a kitten at close range. Sad Day! The only stolen base on the DBacks side came from a guy named Chris Roberson… a guy who received an invitation to workout with the team (I think. I honestly haven’t heard of him before). And finally, the newbie, Felipe Lopez, capitalized on drawing a walk by scoring a run. Good! I think this guy will have a BIG year.
I could go on all day and bore you with stats, but I’ll just give you the linky
What is important from this game then? Well, it is the first one of the year and Arizona won (always a morale booster… even though 25 people played in the game for each side). Games like these also show us players we’ve never heard of and also gives us a glipse for what’s to come. All right, all. That’s it for today. I’ll hopefully have a little more insight (and time) tomorrow.Reminder: Dbacks and Cleveland TOMORROW at 3PM CST on MLB.TV. I’ll hopefully be watching (perhaps while I’m in classYou're a MLB Pro..Thanks For Coming Back!
