A little introduction to Phillies nation..

  • First up, I’d like to thank Jeff for the opportunity to write about my crazy obsession, Philadelphia Phillies baseball.

A little about myself. My name is Kieran Kelly. I’m currently a senior at Drexel University in Philadelphia. I’ve never written about anything on a regular basis, so this will be a learning experience for me.

I’ve been a fan of the Phillies for as long as I can remember. That remembrance goes back to Game 6 of the 1993 World Series. Joe Carter. Enough said.

I spent all of my savings to go to Game 4 of the 2008 World Series. There was no way in hell that I was missing a chance to see the Phillies in the World Series. I bought a season ticket package for this season, so there will be many first hand accounts from the Bank.

I’ll try and get together a post about the 2009 Phillies up shortly. I thank you in advance for your patience with me as I get the hang of this.

You can follow me on Twitter @kierankelly  I’ll usually have small snippets there, some about the Phillies, mostly about other things. I’m very active on Twitter, so that will be more “fresh” than here, but I’ll have at least one post a day here.

I look forward to sharing my insights about the Philadelphia Phillies…2008 World F*cking Champions.

    Kieran,

So happy to have you on board! Seriously, I am sure we are going to have some serious debates this year, but all in good fun! I get the feeling its going to be yet another amazing seasons series, and a close race overall..

However, in the heart department, the Mets have yet to show me that they can be on the same field with your Phils.

I can only hope that the Bullpen solidification proves to be the boost they need.

Anyways, looking forward to an amazing season, I literally cannot wait for it to start!

    - Jeff

  2. Jeff,

I’m sure the Phillies-Mets rivalry will continue to intensify. It is quickly becoming one of the great rivalries in baseball.

The Mets seem to be doing the talking again this year, so the Phillies will have to respond on the field again.

The season is so close I can smell it.

Ah yes…our classic sh!t talking… it worked out so well last year. Man, if these guys would simply show it on the field, the Mets would be just fine.

I have to admit though…the new guy can throw, and let’s put it this way I do invite intensity in a closer…

    P.S – Lidge is incredible too…

  4. Yeah, I’m a little worried that the Mets’ bullpen issues may be fixed with the addition of K-Rod, but I guess we’ll find out.

Lidge was a steal. The Phillies should be arrested for what they stole from the Astros.
